Methodist Church
on May 10, 1908 when Anna Jarvis instigated the service in honor of her mother,
Anna Reeves. Jarvis was responsible for the proclamation of Mother’s Day as a
national holiday in 1914 and the church is now known as the International
Mother’s Day Shrine.
